Welcome to Knotted Network ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and disclose information about users of our website and services. Knotted Network operates www.knottednetwork.com across desktop, mobile, tablet and apps. All these websites, mobile sites and apps are referred to as the “Websites” in this Privacy Policy.

 

Knotted Network is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals and is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) (the “Act”). We will only collect, use or disclose personal information in accordance with the Act and this Privacy Policy.   • register to use our Websites or part of them as a Knotted Network Vendor;

  • log in to use our Websites via your social networking site (“SNS”) account;

  • subscribe to receive newsletter and alerts, and filling in forms, applications, surveys or research, participating in promotions and competitions on the Websites or websites of our service providers;

  • contact us or our service providers for any reason including, but not limited to, reporting a problem with the Websites, requesting further services or seeking our assistance;

  • post or contribute material on our Websites or social networking pages;

  • use our services and any credit provided by us in connection with those services

  • provide personal information to us;

  • apply for a position of employment with us;

  • use our websites or services (including via cookies); and

  • contact and correspond with us

We do not collect sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (“Privacy Act”), such as racial or ethnicity information, political opinions or associations, criminal records or health information.

The purposes for which we collect your information may include but is not limited to:

  • verifying your identity;

  • contacting you (including via electronic messaging such as SMS and email, by mail, by phone or in any other lawful manner);

  • developing and improving our services and obtaining feedback.

If we are not able to collect personal information about you we may not be able to provide you with products, services and assistance to the extent that they require us to collect, use or disclose personal information.

We may also collect information about you including, but not limited to, data relating to your activities on our Websites (including IP addresses) via tracking technologies such as cookies and measurement software or data relating to survey responses.

2. Why do we collect, hold, use and/or disclose your personal information

The main purposes for which we would collect, hold, use and/or disclose personal information are:

  • To identify you and verify your identity

  • To communicate with you about our business

  • To contact you occasionally with critical user information or service updates

  • To assist our partners that you are dealing with through Knotted Network. For example, we need to pass on personal information from users, such as contact details, to venue owners/managers/lessees so that you are able to book/arrange property viewings/communicate

  • To customise, measure and improve our services, content and advertising

  • To tailor the site based on demographic and consumer trends

  • To prevent activity we determine to be potentially unlawful, illegal or harmful and to enforce our Privacy Policy and Term and Conditions

  • If you choose to send a message and contact one of our partnering venues on the site, your personal information, including your email address and any other information you supply will be visible to that partnering venue or business so that they can reply directly to you. Enquiries sent via the site are also available for review to a limited number of people at Knotted Network.

 

We may de-identify and aggregate your personal information and of others for our own statistical purposes. Provided that it remains de-identified (i.e. anonymous), we may disclose that aggregated information to third parties or use it for marketing or research purposes.

3. Lead Distribution (Pay-Per-Lead Model)

When a couple submits a vendor inquiry or request for quote, we may share relevant personal data with vendors who match the couple’s criteria. Vendors are charged on a per-lead basis for access to this data. By submitting inquiries, users consent to the sharing of this information with vendors.

4. Payment Information

We do not store credit card details. All payments are processed securely via Stripe or similar PCI-compliant services.

 

5. Data Security

Knotted Network implements measures to protect the personal information that we hold, including:

  • Mandatory password protection on all computers (changed regularly)

  • Secure hard copy document, electronic storage and hardware disposal procedures

  • Firewall and antivirus/malware software

  • Training and internal policies

 

While no system is completely secure, we believe the measures implemented by the site reduce our vulnerability to security problems to a level appropriate to the type of data involved.

 

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information or data to enforce our policies or where we are permitted to do so by applicable law, such as in response to a valid legally-compliant request by a law enforcement or governmental authority, or in connection with actual or proposed litigation, or to protect our property, people and other rights of interest.

  • Venue owners/managers/lessees that you have opted to contact

  • Any third party you have asked us to share your personal data with – such as Facebook if you have asked us to connect with your Facebook account

  • Any contracted services providers we engage, including/;

  • Information technology services

  • Marketing and communications agencies

  • Printers and distributors or direct marketing materials

  • External business advisors such as auditor, lawyers
